As part of his visit to Uzbekistan to attend the meeting of the CIS Foreign Ministers Council Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Aleinik held bilateral talks with the foreign ministers of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
A traditionally open, friendly nature and strategic level of Belarusian-Uzbek relations were emphasized at the meeting of Sergei Aleinik with Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov. The parties discussed the current topics of bilateral interaction on a wide range of issues.
The foreign ministers focused on further intensification of trade, economic, and industrial cooperation. The parties also pointed out the considerable potential for strengthening ties and implementing joint projects at the regional level in Belarus and Uzbekistan. Practical aspects of cooperation at international and regional integration platforms, humanitarian cooperation, and the schedule of bilateral events and visits in the nearest future were also discussed.
The parties signed the Program of Consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Belarus and Uzbekistan for 2023-2024.
Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Aleinik met with Kazakhstan's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Murat Nurtleu. The Belarusian minister of foreign affairs congratulated his counterpart on his appointment and wished him success in his responsible position.
The ministers of foreign affairs of Belarus and Kazakhstan expressed satisfaction with the progressive development of the bilateral dialogue and outlined further joint steps to expand cooperation in political, trade and economic, scientific and technical, cultural and humanitarian areas. They also emphasized the need to intensify cooperation ties.
The ministers confirmed the focus of Minsk and Astana on the further strengthening of strategic partnership. The parties agreed to sign the Action Plan (Roadmap) between the governments of the two countries to enhance trade and economic cooperation in the nearest future for 2023-2024.
They also exchanged views on current issues on the international and regional agenda.
