Сёлетняя культурная сталіца Беларусі – Пінск – адметная кропка на карце краіны. У гэтым горадзе на Брэстчыне захавалася больш за 180 аб’ектаў, уключаных у Дзяржаўны спіс гісторыка-культурных каштоўнасцей. А яшчэ Пінск мае нефармальны, але агульнапрызнаны статус – сталіца беларускага Палесся з яе насельнікамі – палешукамі. Кім з’яўляецца паляшук і чым ён адрозніваецца ад беларуса, які мае характар і як у яго атрымалася наладзіць жыццё пасярод багны? Адказы на гэтыя пытанні для міжнароднага радыё “Беларусь” шукала краязнаўца, аўтар шматлікіх турыстычных даведнікаў па Піншчыне, лепшы экскурсавод года паводле конкурсу “Пазнай Беларусь” Таццяна Хвагіна.

Госці Пінска, гуляючы па пешаходнай вуліцы Леніна, сустракаюцца з палешуком. Бронзавая скульптура паўстала да 920-годдзя сталіцы беларускага Палесся. Зборны вобраз карэннага жыхара тутэйшых зямель нарадзіўся стараннямі брэсцкага скульптара Аляксея Паўлючука. Калі быў зроблены невялічкі макет, то кожны, хто быў далучаны да абмеркавання гэтага помніка, казаў: “Не, напэўна трэба капялюш змяніць”, “А навошта лапці на нагах? Давайце боты яму адзенем!”
Галоўная ідэя скульптуры якраз звязана з неверагодным патрыятызмам пінчукоў: і жыхароў Пінска, і пінскіх ваколіц. Людзей-кансерватараў, адрэзаных ад іншага свету, якія ўмелі ў такіх цяжкіх умовах, на балоце, на гэтых рэках і каналах не толькі выжываць, але радавацца жыццю. Нетутэйшых успрымалі насцярожана, глядзелі пагардліва: новы чалавек без дапамогі карэнных пінчукоў тут доўга не пратрымаецца.

Палеская зямля балоцістая, складаная, таму характар палешука гартаваўся няпроста. Людзі, якія абралі гэты край і палюбілі яго, навучыліся скарыстоўваць рэсусры навакольных рэк і балот. Невыпадкова вядомая амерыканская даследчыца і вандроўніца Луіза Арнэр Бойд, пабываўшы тут, адзначыла: “На Зямлі знойдзем не так шмат месцаў, дзе балоты, рэкі, каналы, вялікая абводненасць тэрыторыі так паўплывалі на характар і побыт людзей”.

На Палессі кажуць так: “Паляшук нараджаецца ўжо з загнутым мезенцам. Гэтаму ёсць тлумачэнне: калі ён кудысьці паедзе і патрэбна будзе пачаць гутарку, пазнаёміцца і прадставіць сябе найлепшым чынам, тады наш пінчук выстаўляе нагу наперад, нос задзірае як мага вышэй, паказвае ўжо загнуты палец і з гонарам прамаўляе: “Па-першае, я з Пінска!”
У трылогіі “На ростанях” Якуб Колас, які настаўнічаў на Палессі, пісаў: “Па Каралінскім рынку хадзілі палешукі і паляшучкі, вельмі ганарыстыя. Тое, што не тычылася Палесся, іх не цікавіла”. Гэта як адасобленая цывілізацыя.
Паляшук – гэта беларус, але ў яго характары шмат адметнасцей. Ажно да ХХ стагоддзя, да пачатку меліярацыі, ён жыў пад Пінскам і, не тое што ў сталіцы – часам не быў нават у Пінску, бо не было патрэбы.
Зразумела, сёння ўжо не знойдзем такіх адарваных ад цывілізацыі палешукоў. У нашыя дні аўтэнтычная культура найперш захоўваецца ў песнях, абрадах, паданнях, традыцыях народнай медыцыны. І гэтым Палессе вылучаецца.
