Tourism exports in Belarus may surpass pre-pandemic level in 2025

Belarus’ export of tourism services may exceed the pre-pandemic level by the end of the year, Irina Voronovich, Director of the Tourism Department of the Belarusian Sport and Tourism Ministry, said at a press conference titled Preliminary Results of the 2025 Tourist Season and Outcomes of the 23rd National Tourism Competition Discover Belarus, BelTA has learned.
 
“Official statistics for 2025 will be available closer to March. Based on the results of ten months, we can say that the growth rate of tourism service exports reached 144.2% compared to the same period last year. The trend is positive. We have surpassed both last year's figures and the pre-pandemic 2019 levels, which we consider the most successful year for tourism. We still have some time left this year, and the final figures will be indicative of the entire period of tourism development in the country,” Irina Voronovich said.
 
The Russian Federation remains the leader in terms of the number of tourists visiting Belarus. The most popular types of tourism among Russians traditionally include health resort visits, agro-ecotourism, and tours to industrial enterprises. Shopping tours have been gaining popularity for the third consecutive year. In terms of destinations, tours focusing on the country’s castle and estate complexes generate the greatest interest. Event-based and gastronomic tourism are also top requests.
 
“As of today, the number of Russian citizens crossing our border for tourism purposes has increased by 47.1% compared to the same period last year,” said Irina Voronovich.
 
Tourists from China, Latvia, the UAE, and Türkiye are also actively visiting the country.
 
According to monitoring data, a foreign tourist spends an average of about $120-150 per day in Belarus, while Belarusians spend about $50. Key attractions include sites on the UNESCO World Heritage List, the Belovezhskaya Pushcha, and the Khatyn Memorial Complex.

21st June was fifth International Yoga Day observed across the world. The theme for Yoga Day 2019 was "Yoga for Climate Action”. On this day, which is dedicated to inner and outer well-being of human body, people across the world practice yoga in groups. The International Day of Yoga aims to raise awareness worldwide of the many benefits of practicing yoga, a physical, mental and spiritual practice.

Lieber Dietmar,
das ist wirklich ein Dudelsack :) In Belarus wird es aber Dudá genannt. Eigentlich ist Duda ein belarussisches traditionelles Musikinstrument. Übrigens gibt es viele Arten und Formen von Dudelsack in verschiedenen Kulturen und Ländern von Südamerica bis Indien.
PS: das Lied ist Каляда На Балоце von Тутэйшая Шляхта. ;)
