The Belarusian national beach soccer team got off to a winning start at the Euro Beach Soccer League Superfinal Viareggio 2025 in Italy, BelTA has learned.
In their Group A opener today, Nicolas Alvarado’s team beat the reigning Euro Beach Soccer League champions from Portugal 4:3. Belarus started the game on the front foot, but it was their opponents who scored first, with Bernardo Martins converting a penalty in the 5th minute. The Belarusian team kept up the pressure and, just a minute and a half before the first period ended, Aleh Hapon leveled the score with a spectacular shot, making it 1:1. Right after the second period got underway, André Lourenço gave Portugal the lead once more, converting another penalty to make it 2:1. He scored his third goal early in the final period, but the Belarusian response was immediate. Yury Piatrouski and Yauheni Novikau struck back with accurate shots within just 25 seconds, before Aleh Hapon added his second of the game to put Belarus ahead 4:3.
On 10 September, the Belarusians will face the French team, and on 12 September, they will meet last season’s silver medalists from Italy. This year, the Belarusian team has participated in two stages of the Euro Beach Soccer League. In Batumi, they decisively defeated Türkiye (12:1), Germany (6:1), and the Czech Republic (9:2). In the Italian city of Castellammare di Stabia, the Belarusians beat Moldova (5:3), received a technical victory over Latvia (3:0), and lost to the Swiss team (7:9).
In the opening match of Group B at the decisive stage, the Ukrainian team narrowly defeated Switzerland with a score of 5:4. Later, the Spanish team will play against Denmark. Following the group stage, the top two teams from each group will advance to the medal round. The semi-finals will be held on 13 September, while the final and the bronze medal match will take place on 14 September.
In the two previous seasons, the Belarusian national team won bronze medals in the Euro Beach Soccer League, adding to the silver they won in 2021. Last season’s final saw Portugal secure a decisive victory over Italy (5:1), marking their ninth title in the competition. Meanwhile, in the bronze medal match, Belarus secured a confident win against Spain with a score of 6:1.

das ist wirklich ein Dudelsack :) In Belarus wird es aber Dudá genannt. Eigentlich ist Duda ein belarussisches traditionelles Musikinstrument. Übrigens gibt es viele Arten und Formen von Dudelsack in verschiedenen Kulturen und Ländern von Südamerica bis Indien.
PS: das Lied ist Каляда На Балоце von Тутэйшая Шляхта. ;)
