Krutoi: Livestock farming is a key element of regions’ agricultural industry

Livestock farming is a key element of the agricultural industry in the regions, Head of the Belarus President Administration, president’s authorized representative in Mogilev Oblast Dmitry Krutoi said at an off-site meeting in Krichev District held by the Mogilev Oblast Executive Committee to review the agricultural industry’s performance in January-July 2025 and discuss preparations for the winter-stall period of 2025-2026, BelTA has learned.

The off-site meeting began with a performance review of the Malyatichi-AGRO enterprise, a subsidiary of the Mogilev Meat Processing Plant holding company. The recent addition of a cattle-fattening site has allowed the company to establish a complete, end-to-end cattle management cycle.

“Following last year’s instruction of the president to improve cattle management, the government is constructing regional feedlots to address inefficiencies. These facilities will absorb unproductive cattle from struggling dairy farms, specifically those with poor conditions and milk yields below 5-6 kg per head. In Mogilev Oblast, this strategy is being implemented by fattening bulls for optimized beef production and processing at local plants,” noted Dmitry Krutoi.

At the same time, work was underway to stop the illegal export of meat. “Over the past three years, we have achieved certain successes in this area: the efficiency of work has increased, and the workload of meat processing plants now exceeds 90%,” he said.

Promising investment plans are already underway. As an example, Dmitry Krutoi cited Mogilev Meat Processing Plant, which plans to invest Br50 million over the next three years. The investment will expand production of canned goods and sausages, specifically for the Russian market. Additionally, the company is pursuing authorization to export stewed meat to China. Dmitry Krutoi stressed that this clear export demand provides financial institutions with the confidence to support the project through lending.

Developing the raw material base for meat processors and constructing new feedlots will significantly improve livestock farming efficiency. “We have specifically invited all district executive committee chairs to today’s off-site meeting on livestock,” stated Dmitry Krutoi. “A major focus will be on livestock farming, which is key to boosting the overall efficiency of the region’s agro-industrial complex.”

A lot of attention is also paid to building new facilities in the agricultural sector. The head of the Belarus President Administration emphasized that there is a large discrepancy in the cost of design solutions. And these issues will be brought into order with the involvement of the State Control Committee. “We will review potential cost inflation from designers due to high demand. The selected construction designs and technologies are vital. We are currently testing different methods on several similar projects in the region to objectively select the most optimal one based on price and quality,” said Dmitry Krutoi.

This comprehensive approach to livestock farming is designed for scalability and will demand concrete results, with no exceptions. In Mogilev Oblast, numerous facilities require modernization, which is only possible through an effective investment program. The inefficiency of tethered housing and outdated technology is proven. “Consequently, cattle will be relocated from farms incapable of managing them. However, this requires a systematic and cost-effective solution: the construction of specialized facilities,” concluded Dmitry Krutoi.

21st June was fifth International Yoga Day observed across the world. The theme for Yoga Day 2019 was "Yoga for Climate Action”. On this day, which is dedicated to inner and outer well-being of human body, people across the world practice yoga in groups. The International Day of Yoga aims to raise awareness worldwide of the many benefits of practicing yoga, a physical, mental and spiritual practice.

das ist wirklich ein Dudelsack :) In Belarus wird es aber Dudá genannt. Eigentlich ist Duda ein belarussisches traditionelles Musikinstrument. Übrigens gibt es viele Arten und Formen von Dudelsack in verschiedenen Kulturen und Ländern von Südamerica bis Indien.
PS: das Lied ist Каляда На Балоце von Тутэйшая Шляхта. ;)
