PM: Belarus, Azerbaijan enjoy time-tested strategic partnership

Belarus and Azerbaijan enjoy the time-tested strategic partnership, Belarusian Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin said during the talks with Prime Minister Ali Asadov of Azerbaijan in Baku on 5 May, BelTA learned.


Before the enlarged session, the prime ministers of Belarus and Azerbaijan talked one-on-one. Aleksandr Turchin thanked Ali Asadov for a frank conversation and warm and cordial welcome. “Belarus and Azerbaijan are bonded by strategic partnership, I would say. Our partnership is time-tested, and the relationship between our leaders is a vivid proof of it. The cornerstone of our relations is trade and economic cooperation, which covers the broadest areas and is characterized by high intensity,” Aleksandr Turchin said.

Last year,  trade between the two countries posted significant growth, the prime minister said. “Nevertheless, in my opinion, we still have room to improve. There are representatives of a number of companies in our delegation that could offer other forms of cooperation,” he noted.

As for the restoration of the territories, Aleksandr Turchin emphasized that Belarus is ready to offer a comprehensive solution: housing construction, development of the manufacturing sector, because people, first of all, need work and wages. “These are the things we are ready to discuss more closely with the Azerbaijani side,” he emphasized.

It is also important to develop industrial cooperation, the prime minister pointed out, including in the areas of firefighting, special-purpose and utility vehicles and suggested expanding the supplies of this equipment.

Aleksandr Turchin expressed special words of gratitude to Ali Asadov as a buyer of Belarusian products, because today it is the best advertisement. “If the prime minister buys them, it means they are really good,” he said with a smile. “Products from Azerbaijan are also of the highest quality. I will say honestly, I am a regular buyer of tomatoes from Azerbaijan too. Therefore, we can say that the prime ministers approve of the quality of products made in our countries”.

The program of the government delegation's visit is rich, and the Belarusian head of  government expressed confidence that the relations between Belarus and Azerbaijan will gain momentum. “I think that our meetings should become regular. So we are looking forward to seeing you in our country. We have new areas to move our cooperation forward,” Aleksandr Turchin summarized.

21st June was fifth International Yoga Day observed across the world. The theme for Yoga Day 2019 was "Yoga for Climate Action”. On this day, which is dedicated to inner and outer well-being of human body, people across the world practice yoga in groups. The International Day of Yoga aims to raise awareness worldwide of the many benefits of practicing yoga, a physical, mental and spiritual practice.

Höre gerade den tollen Song 10:45 min ( Hörerbriefkasten) Was ist das für ein traditionelles Instrument im Soloteil, klingt etwas wie ein Dudelsack, aber der ist ja in Schottland:-)

Lieber Dietmar,
das ist wirklich ein Dudelsack :) In Belarus wird es aber Dudá genannt. Eigentlich ist Duda ein belarussisches traditionelles Musikinstrument. Übrigens gibt es viele Arten und Formen von Dudelsack in verschiedenen Kulturen und Ländern von Südamerica bis Indien.
PS: das Lied ist Каляда На Балоце von Тутэйшая Шляхта. ;)

Хацелася б даведацца, цi плануе радыёстанцыя вяшчанне на FM у Мiнску, бо ў заходнiх рэгiёнах Беларусi радыёстанцыя на FM працуе. У шматнацыянальным Мiнску жыве шмат замежных грамадзян, таксама прыязджаюць турысты, якiя б маглi даведацца пра тое, што аббываецца ў краiне i за яе межамi праз радыё Беларусь. На сёння ў Мiнску няма нiводнай англамоўнай цi iншамоўнай радыёстанцыi. З павагай, ваш слухач Сяргей.
