Belarus, South Africa strengthen S&T сooperation

Belarus and South Africa are intensifying cooperation in science and technology. This was discussed during the 4th meeting of the Belarus-South Africa commission on cooperation in science and technology, the  State Committee on Science and Technology (SCST) of Belarus told BelTA.

During the meeting, SCST Deputy Chairwoman Tatiana Stolyarova emphasized Belarus’ interest in expanding cooperation with South Africa. “We can be mutually beneficial across a wide range of areas, including agricultural technologies, mechanical engineering, the creation of joint high-tech enterprises, education, and the retraining of South African specialists in Belarus,” she noted. “We believe the role of the commission is to identify the most promising areas of cooperation that hold potential for scientific organizations and companies in both countries, facilitate contact and interaction, discuss support for joint projects, and organize regular information exchanges on events that promote interaction among institutions and individual researchers.”

Tatiana Stolyarova also praised the positive growth in exports of high-tech Belarusian goods to South Africa, stressing that reliable partners and forward-looking ideas are just as important as financial investment.
