Spring crops planted on over 40% of designated area in Belarus

Spring crops have been planted on 40.1% of the designated area in Belarus, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.

Spring crops were sown on 947,900 hectares, which is 40.1% of the plan. Early spring grain and leguminous crops (excluding maize, buckwheat and millet) were planted on an area of 547,600 hectares, which is 88.9% of the target.

Spring rapeseed was planted on an area of 15,500 hectares, which is 25.2% of the target. Sugar beet was planted on 85,200 hectares (82.5%), maize on 137,900 hectares (11.3%), potatoes on 1,85 hectares (11.1%), vegetables on 1,40 hectares (28%).

Annual grasses were planted on 112,100 hectares, which is 51% of the plan. Flax was sown on an area of 31,400 hectares, which is 63.3% of the plan.
