Belarus needs to tighten control over the use of public money and public property, Chairman of the State Control Committee Alexander Yakobson said when introducing the new head of the Grodno Office of the State Control Committee (SCC) Vasily Gerasimov in Grodno.
Alexander Yakobson expressed confidence that the expertise of Vasily Gerasimov, who headed the main expert and legal department of the SCC Central Office for more than nine years, his professional capacity, the ability to think outside the box and be creative in solving problems will ensure high-quality work of the SCC regional office.
      The SCC head identified a number of priority tasks. In particular, he noted the need for more work in addressing socio-economic issues at the regional level, to enhance control over the use of public money and public property. Alexander Yakobson underscored that one of the ways to improve the efficiency is to strengthen cooperation with local authorities and law enforcement agencies.
Vasily Gerasimov, for his part, noted that the focus of the SCC Grodno Office will be on the use of public funds, control over the compliance with tax laws.
