Belarus and France should expand the legal framework of the bilateral cooperation, Belarusian Prime Minister Mikhail Myasnikovich said as he met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Belarus Dominique Gazuy.

    “The existing legal framework is inadequate. Some fundamental agreements are missing. These are agreements on mutual protection of investments and avoidance of double taxation. The signing of these documents would send a positive signal to our companies and facilitate closer ties between the two countries in general.
      At present Belarus is home to 48 Belarusian-French joint ventures, but the number could be bigger. We need to come to grips with the long-running issues of the establishment of the intergovernmental commission”.
       Dominique Gazuy assured that she will address these matters as soon as possible.
