MPs of Belarus, Russia to discuss Union State healthcare programs

A session of the Healthcare Commission of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Belarus-Russia Union State will take place in Minsk on 4 March, BelTA learned from the commission's press service.
 
The session will hear reports on the implementation of the Union State programs in 2024 and preparations for their realization in 2025. These programs include: Providing comprehensive medical assistance to certain categories of citizens of Belarus and Russia who have been exposed to radiation as a result of the Chernobyl disaster; Health resort treatment of veterans and disabled veterans of the Great Patriotic War and combat operations; Treatment and health improvement of children from the areas of Belarus and Russia most affected by the Chernobyl disaster; Treatment of Belarusian and Russian citizens using proton therapy.
 
“The session will also address matters related to the development of new programs, projects and activities of the Union State in healthcare,” the press service noted.
 
Attending the session will be also representatives of the Standing Committee of the Union State, the Healthcare Ministry and the Justice Ministry of Belarus and Russia, the Ministry of Civil Defense, Emergencies and Disaster Relief of Russia and the Federal Medical-Biological Agency of Russia.
