Belarus, China to launch joint publishing projects

Belarusian and Chinese publishers have discussed joint projects on the sidelines of the 26th Beijing International Book Fair, BelTA quotes the Belarusian Information Ministry. A Belarusian delegation led by Deputy Information Minister Igor Buzovsky took part in the opening of the Beijing International Book Fair and held several meetings with representatives of China’ government agencies and publishers. At a meeting with Director and Editor-in-Chief of the publishing house New World Press Ding Yun, the Belarusian delegation presented the project Ten Famous People of Belarus implemented with the support of the Belarusian embassy in China. The book is already available in China’s bookshops. The Belarusian party proposed to discuss projects to publish and sell works by Belarusian writers in China. At a meeting with Lu Cairong, Vice President of the China International Publishing Group, and Xu Bu, President of Foreign Languages Press, the Belarusian delegation offered to consider translating works of Belarusian literature into Chinese and then sell them in China. Belarus proposed a pilot project to publish the novel King Stakh’s Wild Hunt by Vladimir Korotkevich which caters both to young people and adults.

According to the Chinese party, a book about statecraft by Xi Jinping in the Belarusian language will soon see the light of day.
