Belarus, EU discuss advancement of political dialogue in Minsk

The seventh session of the Belarus-EU coordinating group took place in Minsk, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA. The Belarusian delegation at the meeting was led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Oleg Kravchenko, the European one – Managing Director for Europe and Central Asia in the European External Action Service Thomas Mayr-Harting. Representatives of Belarusian non-governmental organizations took part in a number of segments of the session.

The sides discussed the state and prospects of Belarus’ relations with the European Union, the country’s participation in the European Union’s Eastern Partnership Initiative, cooperation in economy and finance, trade, agriculture, education, science, ecology, transport, digital technology, international technical aid, and human rights.

On the sidelines of the session Oleg Kravchenko met with Thomas Mayr-Harting. The two diplomats discussed the state of the political dialogue and industry-wise cooperation between Belarus and the European Union, participation in the European Union’s Eastern Partnership Initiative, the implementation of the European Union’s international technical aid projects in Belarus, and the situation in Eastern Europe.
