Team of Belarusian biologists nominated for CIS humanitarian award

         A team of scientists from the Central Botanical Garden of Belarus has been nominated for the Stars of the Commonwealth award, the press service of the Interstate Foundation for Humanitarian Cooperation of the CIS member states reported. They were nominated for the project to plant a series of specifically bred lilacs in hero cities in honor of Great Patriotic War heroes and sites of great battles. The project will be implemented in 2011-2018. This year 12 nominees from eight countries compete for the Stars of the Commonwealth award. The panel of judges that will include representatives of all the CIS member states will select eight laureates.
