On the 25th of October President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko held a meeting to discuss measures to improve the management of public shares.

        At the meeting the President stressed that he had repeatedly raised the issue before the government to improve the efficiency of management of public shareholdings in joint stock companies.
        "The system of state management is effective only if, first, joint stock companies fulfill the national tasks (being focused on the socio-economic development, food, environmental, safety), and are not confined to the narrow corporate interests, secondly, if they operate profitably, with a good margin, and thirdly – if they quickly react to changing market conditions," the President of Belarus said.
         He noted with regret that, in practice, here we had a lot of problems.
