In their second home game, which took place on the 22nd of October HC Dinamo Minsk defeated HC Avangard Omsk in overtime with the score 3:2.
The hosts opened the score in the mid of the first period. After a shot from the blue-line by Janne Niskala Sergey Drozd was the first for the rebound to put the puck into the net. However, the guests managed to equalize quite soon. In the 18th minute Ivan Mozer made it 1:1. But some 34 seconds before the end of the first period Dinamo took the lead again. It was Tim Stapleton to make it 2:1.
In the beginning of the second period the guests equalized again – the goal was scored by Andrey Ivanov.
Despite the fact that Dinamo attacked more and had a few good scoring chances in the regulation time, the hosts managed to score a game-winning goal only in overtime. The top scorer of the Belarusian team Tim Stapleton made it 3:2 some 63 seconds from time.
The victory over Avangard became the third in succession for Dinamo Minsk. Now with 23 points after 18 played games Dinamo occupy 6th place out of 7 in the Tarasov division and 11th place out of 14 in the Western Conference.
