Vatican eager to discuss agreements in various fields with Belarus

       Vatican is eager to discuss the signing of agreements in various avenues with Belarus, Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin told reporters in Minsk. “The forms of reaching this goal can be different. You have mentioned a concordat. It is the most advanced form of such agreements which regulates all cooperation avenues. We can also discuss the signing of agreements in various fields. The Holy See is open for the dialogue,” the Cardinal said. Pietro Parolin added that his meetings with Belarusian officials focused on the possibility to sign agreements on religious matters of mutual interest. “I would like to say that this issue was discussed at the meetings in public administration bodies. The possibility to sign an agreement between the government of the Republic of Belarus and the Holy See on religious matters of mutual interest was on the agenda. We are ready to make progress in this field,” the Cardinal explained.
