Putin approves Belarus-Russia migration protocol


        Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed an instruction approving the signing of the protocol on introducing amendments to the Belarus-Russia agreement on the equal rights of citizens of the two countries to the freedom of movement and the choice of place of stay and residence on the territory of the Union State as of 24 January 2006. The document was posted on Russia’s official Internet portal of legal information, BelTA reports.
     The protocol allows extending the period of stay of Belarusian and Russian citizens on the territory of the Union State without registering with migration services from 30 to 90 days.
The Russian President instructed the Federal Migration Service to sign the protocol on behalf of Russia upon reaching the agreement with the Belarusian side.
