Belarus continues summing up the results of the recent elections to the House of Representatives

Belarus continues summing up the results of the recent elections to the House of Representatives, the lower chamber of the parliament. At the same tine the capital city and regions hold elections to the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly. Senators are elected at meetings of deputies of local councils in each region and Minsk City Council of Deputies. The upper house of parliament includes 64 MPs, and is considered to be the chamber of territorial representation. 56 members are elected, including 8 from each region and the capital city. 8 more senators are appointed by the President. Results of elections to the Council of the Republic will be announced no later than September 30.
