The information was released by Mr Vladimir Anishchenko, Deputy Director General of the United Informatics Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
The Belarusian satellite has been doing flight tests for several months already. Once they are over, the space information the satellite sends will be available for sale to customers in Belarus and other countries.
Mr Nikolai Murashko, Head of the System Engineering Lab of the Institute, said that the quality of the images the satellite sends meets expectations.
The Belarusian satellite designed to enable the remote sensing of the Earth was launched into outer space from the Baikonur space launch site, Kazakhstan on 22 July 2012. It will be able to provide satellite images of entire Belarus. With the satellite of its own, Belarus plans to satisfy the domestic demand for satellite images and sell them to other countries. Several countries have already expressed an interest, including Azerbaijan and Venezuela.
