UNECE praises rapid public private partnership progress in Belarus


          The United Nations Economic Commission for Europe noted Belarus’ rapid progress in developing public private partnership, the press service of the Belarusian Economy Ministry reported after First Deputy Economy Minister Alexander Zaborovsky met with UNECE Executive Secretary Christian Bach in Geneva. According to the source, the UNECE Executive Secretary praised the role of Belarus and its experts in UNECE committees. In turn, the Belarusian First Deputy Economy Minister stated that innovations, trade diversification, and public private partnership are some of the key priorities of the Belarus government. The Economy Ministry is the agency in charge of coordinating cooperation between all the Belarusian government bodies and the UNECE. The work will continue taking into account new tasks in the country’s economic policy and the assimilation of the best international practices in the area of sustainable development. In particular, Belarus relies on assistance of UN experts for developing the new draft five-year program for the country’s social and economic development in such areas as ecology, power engineering, healthcare, and sustainable development.
