Seven major sports facilities will be commissioned in Belarus in 2013. Five of them will be brand new, and the remaining two will be upgraded.
Four of these major facilities are located in Minsk. These are the tennis center, a track-and-field indoor center and a swimming pool of the Belarusian State University of Physical Education. In addition, a multifunctional facility, namely a freestyle skiing arena with a fitness and recreation complex will be built in Minsk.
The freestyle skiing arena with a fitness and recreation center will cater to both professional and amateur athletes.
The fifth major sports facility to come on stream in 2013 will be an ice arena at the national center of Olympic training for winter sports in Raubichy.
The government will also allocate funds to upgrade the sports and recreation center of the national center of Olympic training for winter sports in Raubichy and the sports and recreation facility Kryzhovka at the Olympic training center for equestrian sports and horse breeding in Ratomka.
All in all, the draft government investment program for 2013 provides for the design and construction of 19 Olympic training centers. Seven of them will be put into operation in 2013, and others will come on stream no earlier than 2014.
